چکیده
In this survey we describe how the so-called Dold congruence arises in topology, and it relates to periodic point counting dynamical systems.

Integer Sequences and Periodic Points
Arithmetic properties of integer sequences counting periodic points are studied, and applied to the case of linear recurrence sequences, Bernoulli numerators, and Bernoulli denominators.
متن کاملFixed Points, Periodic Points, and Coin-tossing Sequences for Mappings Defined on Two-dimensional Cells
We propose, in the general setting of topological spaces, a definition of two-dimensional oriented cell and consider maps which possess a property of stretching along the paths with respect to oriented cells. For these maps, we prove some theorems on the existence of fixed points, periodic points, and sequences of iterates which are chaotic in a suitable manner. Our results, motivated by the st...
متن کاملPeriodic Points
B-spaces are a class of uniquely arcwise connected generalized continua, containing trees. In this paper, it is shown that a main result obtained by several authors for existence of periodic points of small periods of mappings of trees is also true for B-spaces.
متن کاملMorphic Heights and Periodic Points
An approach to the calculation of local canonical morphic heights is described, motivated by the analogy between the classical height in Diophantine geometry and entropy in algebraic dynamics. We consider cases where the local morphic height is expressed as an integral average of the logarithmic distance to the closure of the periodic points of the underlying morphism. The results may be though...
متن کاملDensity of the Periodic Points in the Interval Set
The dynamical system (f,R) is introduced and some of its properties are investigated. It is proven that there is an invariant set Λ on which the periodic points of f are dense.
